Getting started with Innioasis Updater for Mac

Updater should work great on a Mac computer running macOS Sonoma or later, and with a USB Type C cable, but if it doesn't, please report an issue, or contact the developer for assistance.

Step one

Install Homebrew

Homebrew is an open source package manager that'll install on your Mac what is needed to run the application, to get this simply:

Download the Homebrew .pkg installer

then run it on your Mac computer and follow the on screen instructions to install Homebrew.

Step two

Restart your computer

Now you've installed Homebrew, please restart your Mac, then come back to this page.

Step three

Open Updater Disk Image and Drag App into Apps folder

Download the .dmg file file then Open the downloaded file and drag the Innioasis Updater app to your Applications folder

Step four

Run Updater and wait for first time setup.

Open the app Your Mac may block this app the first time you run it as it is not from the App Store

On most Macs you can secondary click on the Updater icon from the Applications folder in Finder and click Open to run the Updater application,

If the app doesn't launch this way, check out this guide from Apple.

If all has gone well so far, you'll see a terminal window appear on your Mac, please type your password for the Mac and hit enter if asked to do so, then sit back and wait for the Terminal window to tell you the Updater app is ready!

What's next?

Launch Updater and select your software.

You can now launch it from your Desktop or Start Menu to update your Y1 to the latest Innioasis OS 3.0.7 or even use it to install Rockbox. (It has lots of other helpful features too)

You'll be shown on screen instructions explaining how to prepare your device to install your chosen software.
