Dreadful. Slow. Poor sound. Not fit for purpose. Tried to return but return costs prohibitive. Don’t buy it.

it's outdated and cheaper than the price lets on. adding themes and stuff is fun, but its just a novelty. the wheel and buttons aren't responsive enough, and the interface doesn't play nice with large amounts of files despite being 64gb storage (for reference, 5000 songs from my library is only 32gb)

missing basic features like viewing a list of album artist; the only option is to view by artist, which gets really cluttered if you have many tracks with the original artist plus a featured artist. the player can read metadata perfectly fine, and can even display songs to you with their metadata titles, but songs are displayed only by file name in the now playing screen. so if you buy from bandcamp, where all the tracks have the artists name in the file name, you won't have any idea what song is playing. if the track name is longer than about 10 characters, you can't even read the whole thing.

the modding and theme community are fun, yeah, but they are just as active in communities for better quality products. you're better off getting something a bit fancier with rockbox support.

Amazing little device for our 10yr old son and the case is a perfect addition to keep it safe.

Excellent media player with form factor of an iPod and modern convenience of an android music player.

Yes, I admit it! I still like MP3 players. I like loading music, audiobooks or podcasts onto them and connecting a pair of wired earbuds or headphones, lying down on my bed or couch and just listening, as I escape into another world.Why not just use my iPhone and my AirPods? I can, but it's too easy to get distracted by all the other apps and messages from friends and co-workers coming in periodically. I prefer old-fashioned things. Using an MP3 player takes me back to the 2000s and early 2010s where I was happier, less connected and could unwind more easily.Yes, I still love technology, and new technology excites me very much! :) Back to this review now.This MP3 player upon close inspection looks oddly similar to the iPod Classic, which I have used before. I'm no stranger to MP3 players - I've owned several over the years, from different brands.It doesn't quite match the iPod Classic in terms of everything that classic, memorable device could do.I might get off track again, no pun intended, so I'll move into a breakdown of each feature and say what I thought about it.[DESIGN] It looks very similar to the iPod Classic. It has the click/touch wheel that I loved about that device. And it functions the same for this one. The screen isn't of quite the same quality. It's a decent screen. Large enough to navigate through music files. It's an acceptable, reasonably wholesome screen. The device's shell is made of some type of hard plastic, which is why it's so lightweight. Because of this, I bought a case for it. I feel the materials used could've been a little better.[EASE OF USE] If you've owned an iPod or any MP3 player before, learning to use this device shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. There is a user manual included. I looked at it just to be sure that I was making use of all this player's features.[TRANSFERRING AUDIO FILES] You just connect this player to your computer with the included cable, and it functions like a flash driver. A folder pops up and you can create folders and then drag and drop files where you wish. Fortunately, transferring files is much more pleasant with this player. They transfer much faster than some other budget MP3 players I've bought.[SOUND QUALITY] Not top-notch sound. If you've owned a high-quality MP3 player, you'll notice a slight reduction in sound quality. All in all, the sound is pretty good. Of course, if you have high-quality headphones, they will certainly help. I just use some wired earbuds from a third-party brand. Most of the time I listen in a quiet environment, so this isn't an issue.[BATTERY] Excellent battery life! I've owned this player for some time already and have had to recharge only 2 times.I'm sorry to say that I haven't tried out the Bluetooth feature. Or the radio. I'm sure they work. This player has so far delivered on everything I've expected from it.I bought a 1TB model and use it at home. I also bought a 128GB model in yellow because I liked the bright color and use this one when I'm on break at work.I think all in all that this player is decent for the money. It's higher quality than the other budget players I've bought, and I find it fun to use. It makes me feel nostalgic about the days where I could afford not to have a care in the world.

The Digital to Analog converter is sub-par with low fidelity as compared to the genuine Apple iPod. That is... Music using corded headphones does not sound good. However, if you have Bluetooth headphones, then the fidelity is present, since the DAC in the MP3 Player is not used.

Background : I have a lot of MP3 players, always seem to be reaching for something better for my pretty large (50k) lossy collection of mostly Vorbis files. And I've been a Rocbox user for many years now.This one piqued my interest due to the scroll wheel and the support already for Rockbox. Prime Day purchase and honestly I didn't spend too much time testing the original firmware.....got as far as testing gapless playback (the software doesn't support it - usually a dealbreaker for me) and then immediately moved onto Rockbox.What i didn't expect however is 1) the pretty extensive grassroots effort with Rockbox right now, including support within the vendor's actual firmware upgrade tool and 2) that Bluetooth actually works within Rockbox itself. Installation was extremely easy although keep in mind I am experienced with that software already.Gapless, on Rockbox, of course works and, at least with my testing so far, Bluetooth also working without any stutters or drops. Battery life I haven't fully tested but even if its half of the 25 hour rating that's still pretty darn good. I also like the tactile "thump" with the clickwheel usage - it's a small add to the player but I like it. The speaker supplied isn't great but it does its job well enough. Think "old AM radio", good for background usage.Sound quality. Again I didn't spend too much time in the original firmware but it wasn't terrible. A lot of this depends on your headphones and, as I expected, some of my cans were better than others. Rockbox of course improved things as I already have EQ settings I'm used to and ported over to the device. But for a device this cheap I think it's good bang/buck, I was never expecting audiophile quality.Screen is also better than I expected, on a player this cheap. Still a bit washed out in sunlight (can't really be helped) but inside the viewing angles are good. I didn't test the video playback but I suspect the screen itself will be adequate.And then lastly the storage options. I had already read online that there is a microSD card inside the player and that can be replaced, for those willing to use a bit of elbow grease. And I an confirm the same - I bought the cheapest 64GB player purposely as I know these built-in cards are usually very low quality.Just be aware that it is not easy to open this thing and I'm experienced with iPhones and iPods past and have a number of tools. I finally managed it once I realized not so much to press at an angle versus using a guitar pick and more "slicing" through the gap, to release each tab. And obviously its a warranty killer but once I realized the pros of this thing I wasn't planning on returning it anyway.Couple of cons:- The microSD on the inside of the unit. Hopefully their next player will fix that. :)- It does feel a bit cheap. All plastic and light weight, much lighter than my iPod 5G. Btw, it's a tad smaller than that iPod.- USB transfer is definitely a bit slower than it should be, and I was using direct USB-C from my PC on this. Feels more like USB 2.0 speeds but at least that's more of a "one-time" situation for my main audio transfers. I had almost considered opening the device again to transfer to the microSD directly. 300GB or so took over 8 hours for me. Ouch.Overall though....I like it a lot. It's a keeper.

I love this thing. I was able to import my FLAC library onto it. It sounds pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a thinner cheaper sound but this was better than I expected. I was considering getting a modded iPod classic and came across this product during my research. For the price I figured I would give it a shot and I absolutely love it.The UI takes some getting use to. The stock software wasn’t too bad. I was able to download skins for it which instantly gave me the iPod nostalgia vibes I was looking for. I definitely recommend still using rock box software with it.The construction of the device is definitely more plastic but lighter than an iPod as a result. I will say the click wheel on this is great. The closest thing to the real thing I’ve tried. I’ve purchased iPod dupes in the past and the click wheel wasn’t a functional wheel. This one is great and makes me engage with the music more than just listening on my phone.It’s a great device to write with or to just unplug and go for a run and play basketball. I use it with my Sennheiser HD 58x jubilee’s open back headphones and my Moondrop Chu II IEM’s those two headphone combination with this device sounds good. I also love using it in my car connecting it via USB. I’m quite happy with my purchase it’s great value for the money.

I ended up returning it, even though I absolutely adored the design, size, and lightweight feel.Unfortunately, the audio quality was a deal breaker for me. I tested it with two excellent wired headphones and found the sound quality to be VERY underwhelming. To be fair, I did not test the included earbuds since they are very basic, but with my own headphones the sound lacked power, warmth, and overall quality.The battery life was also disappointing. In my experience, it drained much faster than expected,FEW HOURS of test, dropped till end….. and I returned the device the very next day.Another thing I didn’t enjoy was the click wheel. It didn’t feel particularly smooth or responsive, and it sometimes struggled to register gestures consistently. I’ve never owned an iPod Classic, so I can’t compare it directly, but I wasn’t expecting the interface to feel this sluggish and limited.Ironically, this purchase ended up introducing me to the Hi-Fi audio world. After returning it, I purchased a Sony Walkman NW-A306 and an NW-A55. I already had fairly critical ears before, but this experience made me realize how important audio quality and output power are to me.So for this, I’m giving 3 stars for gratitude !I can understand why some people enjoy it, especially for the nostalgia factor, but for my personal expectations, it simply wasn’t the right device.

I’ve wanted an IPod, so I got this mp3 player because I’ve heard people say it is similar. I got this MP3 player a few months ago, but I wanted to wait a couple months before I wrote a review so I could see how well it lasts. I’ve had it for about 3 months now, and everything has been great. It is so easy to upload music to and I love the layout. It is so much fun to scroll through the albums I have uploaded (which was super easy to set up in iTunes on a computer. That’s how I upload music to mine!) The battery lasts a while. I love using it on walks and road trips so I can always have my music. The color is so pretty. I’ve always loved rose gold/pink and this did not disappoint. I have a pair of earbuds that I use for them and the sound is great. I’ve also plugged it into my speaker with an aux cable, and it works great that way too. I am so glad I purchased this. It was so worth the money!

I’m having fun with my Innioasis mp3 player! It has a retro feel as a imitation (in appearance) to an iPod classic. The case is plastic and light though I am okay with this.The inner workings are more modern than iPod though. It has Bluetooth capabilities and charges with a USB-C. It also uses a click-wheel response like its mentor. One can purchase a 64 or 128gb player, and there are a variety of colors.The sound isn’t blow-your-mind amazing, but it is adequate. It isn’t perfect, but it does fit my needs and tastes without spending $300+ for old, discontinued technology. I like it so much that I purchased one for a good friend.I haven’t had it long enough to test longevity, but Bluetooth works, radio tunes in reasonably well, and battery does last for several days after about six hours of daily usage.It was worth the cost, in my opinion, and if it broke or failed, I would purchase again.
